Explains the Leunig, too.

And since there's not too much going on here at the moment, I thought I'd post some more fun links. The address of this young lass's movie review website was sent to me by someone good natured enough to humour my unnatural fascination with obscure and hilariously awful flicks. She has over a hundred vids on there, but these two are amongst the funniest (and funnest) I've seen.

The Mystical Adventures of Billy Owens
Billy Owens and The Secret of The Runes

I'm guessing Princess is probably in that age group of people who grew up with Harry Potter, so I was thinking either you or her or both of you might get a laugh out of them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13506151.post-57814410863128641612013-02-17T22:04:52.777+11:002013-02-17T22:04:52.777+11:00I see. Then I said not a half cry but a full cry (a la Full-Denko) which is a throwback reference to the Helen Demidenko scandal of the '90s (see most recent post for the Leunig cartoon which talks about full and semi denkos as states of alarm).

Will check those links. Thanks Alex. My first thought was of ...I still don't get it? My first thought was of the Guinean short film from the early 90s; but that seemed a bit too obscure. Then I put demi and denko together and guessed it was probably some European (descended?) author/film-maker I know nothing about.

So, uh, was it?

The "story by a kid" style of short films seems to be relatively popular at the moment. The most well known example I'm aware of is this web series on YouTube. It's done pretty much just for laughs though. Nothing deeper going on.

And for more "good stuff" have a skim through some articles on the "One Billion Rising" demonstrations that happened recently (assuming you haven't already).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13506151.post-1307999131445058142013-02-17T11:18:58.451+11:002013-02-17T11:18:58.451+11:00Ha you got it Mr E, I knew you would if anyone! Maybe I missed something crucial, for as we all know, the Darville is in the detail.Mr Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09920080753047166402noreply@blogger.com
