gettin' the lingo down

can anyone please tell me what 'meme' means and give some examples of usage??

usually i can work stuff out from the context but this has me schtumped...

  7. I always thought it meant "Me, Me" as in - this thing I'm writing is a meme cos it is about "Me, Me".

    Also never use Wikipedia as it is full of po-faced, boob-suckling, indulgent double talk.
