The bits and pieces, pain and joy that we call Life. And books. Lots of books. And movies. And this chair. That's all I need. Oh, I need this desk lamp.

OK, here it is. I can say I have an agent.
The phone call went excellently. V is sending me her literary agent agreement. V has a short-list of pubs to send it to. V is very excited about it, loves it and will be phoning/emailing publishers next week, I guess (I have to get some stuff to her by end of this week). Melba is a bit sweaty and excited. Melba has toast sitting going cold in her toaster. Melba has coffee in her guts, making her twitchy. Melba has to go to lunch now with mother, and can say she has an agent. Melba is very, very happy. Melba promises she won't refer to herself in 3rd person any more.
More to hand when I have it/can say but the key word for now is ORANGE.
Thanks everyone for well wishes and encouragement. Special thanks to Mr E's testicles.

Congratulations!!! I say that's a high you can keep riding all week... :-)
That is fantastic news, very excited for you
Agent Orange? And well done.
You're so very very welcome, Melbs.
WELL DONE!
Excellent news. Congratulations :)
Thanks everyone!!
Congratulations!! Ride it for a week? I'd go a whole month at least!!
Thanks yublocka, long time no see, nice to know you still read sometimes.
So agent agreement is signed, I am up on her website as client and she announced it on twitter. Next week she rings pubs and emails the thing to them, things might happen fairly quickly after that. Or not.
I would like to keep this space still as Melba's space for now anyway. Might have to come out of the closet at some stage and smarty-pant techies can probably even find me anyway BUT I like this space as it is, so shall preserve for as long as possible.
Happy weekend everyone.
Yay! Yay!
Hey Melba, this Melba's space thing is really interesting. I'm going through it now, building a website for my book and naming myself - it's quite out there, after years of being Toa! I'm not sure at all what to do, especially because I can lay down my inanities, frailties and downright batshit crazy fuck ups as Sarah Toa and that is all going to have to change soon ... whaaa!
Maybe I'll blog about it.
Hi Sarah, it is an interesting question, conundrum even. After blogging anonymously, litigiously and offensively for 7 years, I am rather loathe to have the two worlds meet. I do want to keep this as Melba's space, if people cross over themselves somehow, I don't care about that. It's not that I don't want people *here* to know my real name, but I'm not going to start putting my real name here, or photes of myself and family. This space is going to continue as my vent place with my blog buddies some of whom I've known for a long time, even if we've never met. It's cool, I like it.
Mazal tov! I, for one, hope your identity is exposed, because I very much want to read your book.
But perhaps I'll read it anyway? And every time I pick up a new release by a female Aussie author between now and 2015 I'll wonder, "Is this Melba?"!
BOOKY! Thank you! I just went to your blog but there's still nothing much but that's ok as long as you pop in here now and then.
IF it comes out, I will email people and tell them what it is and who I am, and that includes you if you want, I just won't unveil here. Thanks for your mazel tov.
