The bits and pieces, pain and joy that we call Life. And books. Lots of books. And movies. And this chair. That's all I need. Oh, I need this desk lamp.

This is good. Don't be a fucking idiot on Saturday.
Yeah, it's a worry m&m. In two terms, The ALP seems to have completely disintegrated. The Libs will probably get in again next time just on the back of that. And Labour will probably still be a long way from sorting themselves out.
Also, I guess they'll probably want to differentiate themselves from the Greens and recapture some of the "middle ground" by shifting further to the right.
On top of that, the lesson that comes out of an Abbott victory, is that being a simplistic, negative, sloganeering, fear-mongering, interview-ducking, lowest-common-denominator-appealing-to cockwomble* is how you win a federal election.
I worry about how the whole political landscape is going to look in a decade. More "American" is my guess.
"The policy which was issued today was poorly worded..."
Fucking hell. I mean: (a) backtracking cockwombles; and (b) hire people who can actually write policy that's properly worded, you goons. Some poor intern probably churned out that entire policy based on post-it notes and "How I Want It To Be" documents from Murdoch & co.
I also have a theory that, much like a first-year uni student pulling an all-nighter before the first term paper is due, the Libs are scrambling to present policy papers just before election day and hoping that the professor (ie general public) will have so many to go through, that by the time they reach theirs, they'll be sick of marking and just pass it.
And yes, cockwomble is a great word. It was offered to me by a Scottish mate a few weeks ago when I decided I needed an alternative to "fucknuckle" and "arsehat".
I absolutely agree that this eleventh hour policy detail release is all about ducking scrutiny and criticism.
Interesting that Turnbull (apparently) has jumped to walk this back. I have no doubt whatsoever that there are Liberal party influences (both in and out of parliament) who are fearful of the internet and want tools in place to regulate the it similar to television (hell, those influences are evident in the ALP, too). And we know there's been past unpleasantness between Malcolm and the more right-leaning elements of his party. I wonder what did go on behind the scenes.
Also, be sure to give your Scottish mate my thanks, would you. I have a feeling I'll be getting some use out of that one.

I'm so worried that come Saturday night, that cockwomble will be our PM and just as it was with Howard, we'll be stuck with him for a decade or more.

[like] and [unlike] at same time if it's possible.
