This has been floating around for a week or so
It's been a long time between drinks for Weird Al. This is great though. Love it.
Happy weekend everyone.
Al must have a new album out, because I see his videos featured every time I go to look for something on YouTube lately.
Some of these really annoy me and some of them not so much.
Using less instead of fewer, for instance, is no big whoop for me.
And using quotation marks for emphasis, I do that all the fucking time. Especially in plain text. What else am I supposed to do? Use caps-lock? Surround things in asterisks? use the magical fucking emphasise button on my keyboard? Actually, if there's an answer to this question, I'd seriously like to know.
Hahaha...Alex, you make me laugh. I thought this was quite good, though generally find him annoying. Asterisks...really?...****really?*** - like that? Doesn't look right some how. Oh well, no biggie
I'm late to this debate but my two cents' worth. Quotation marks are only for direct speech. I know there's another context they are used but I can't think of it right now because today I taught three hours, and went to Ikea and so I'm tired.
I use asterisks around words to emphasise. It seems to be the convention. But just one asterisk Jo, like *this*
